AWS Storage Services

1.       AMAZON ELASTIC BLOCK STORE

2.       AMAZON ELASTIC FILE SYSTEM

It also works on the same instrument as Amazon EBS does but the only difference between the two is that it can be easily shared and that is the reason it is not attached to any particular system or an operating system.

3.       AMAZON S3 GLACIER

 It is also a type of storage system that allows you to store the archived data. Achieved data is a type of data which is not used on daily basis or frequently. In this type of case one can easily store his/her data in a service like ‘Glacier’ as it stores the data for a while that doesn’t allow you to have an access to it.

Objects & Buckets

The S3 storage service of AWS works on the basis of two concepts that are ‘OBJECTS’ and ‘BUCKETS’.

·         Bucket is a kind of container and an object is a file which is stored in a container. The object is a data file which can be anything be it image, files or blocks and etc.

·         This is basically a data that comes along with the ‘META DATA’. The object is basically a combination of the data and the Metadata. 

·         Different kinds of information are available like file name and the version ID.  The version ID is an ID that tells you about the version you are using.

·         So the working goes something like this, at first buckets are created in divisions and data is being stored in them.

·         The creation of buckets is done as per the different requirements.
